it's day two of our 100 layer cake pop-up shop. we can hardly believe it, but in twenty-four hours the collection sold half way through. oh - my - goodness. (we're probably sewing right now, while you're reading this). five patterns are completely sold out, so that leaves ten patterns for you to choose from.
there are a few left of our favorite patterns like: mustard seed, pink seersucker, and black & white gingham. notice how full the knots are? that's our favorite part of the FORAGE cricket style - it allows you to have a less fussy and slightly more casual look. a bow that's too tight and perfect it will look like a stiff, boring clip-on. it's all about personality... after a little practice, you'll develop you're own knot style.
last week, BHLDN opened their first boutique in houston, tx. this brand is dear to me for several reasons... but i must admit that having our product in their new shop is a big one. as expected, it's stunning from the bold statements to the smallest details. i absolutely love all the architectural elements in the store design. the fixtures are a big stand out also with a delicate balance between antique and modern materials.
pinch me! there they are... a very special, exclusive collection of FORAGE bow ties made from 1940's deadstock plaid fabric. i know you're curious about those crepe paper boutonnieres... it's obvious right, they're handmade by livia cetti of the green vase - swoon.
i also have to mention how much i adore their gown presentation, those forms and their placement make you feel like you're visiting a fashion exhibition at the metropolitan museum of art. congrats ladies & gentleman of BHLDN, well done!

today's the day! our FORAGE bow ties are live at 100 layer cake. we made fifteen new bow ties inspired by some of our favorite weddings that have been featured on their blog... can you guess which ones?
pick a bow tie for your favorite fella or get enough for an entire wedding party. we hunted for fabrics that would be easy to mix & match - so you can put together your own unique collection. as always, the quantities are limited, less than 6 of each pattern. we're offering a special price of $45 each but the pop-up shop only runs through this friday, the 26th. if you see one you like, grab it fast!

while sewing the FORAGE bow ties "souvenir collection" something amazing happened... we received the sweetest email from photographer brittany paige. before we knew it, we were sending a small package of new bow ties to edmonton, alberta to be photographed. we knew when she sent us photos from more than ten different sessions - we'd never be able to pick our favorites. we can't say thank you enough, brittany. xoxo
p.s. are you curious about those bow ties... well, we've been keeping the secret long enough. our pop-up shop at 100 layer cake will go live on august 23rd. want to peek at the entire collection? here you go.

we're about to share a brand new collection of FORAGE bow ties. however, they'll only be available online at a secret location. if you want to know before anyone else, click here to join our mailing list.
if you already have issue 10 of UPPERCASE magazine - then you might have seen some familiar faces. eek! we're always excited to work with janine on anything and when this issue involved being interviewed by erin of design for mankind... we couldn't wait!
in addition to erin's sweet interview, we shared our top 10 tips for setting up at craft fairs and pop-up shops. we cover all the basics: sending invitations, dress rehearsals, picking up fresh flowers, follow up correspondence... but we're not the only reason you should get issue 10 - inside you'll also find work by: sian keegan, jeff rogers, jen causey, and lots of pups. better yet - suscribe and get every issue!
don't worry, BHLDN didn't forget about the fellas. their first boutique in houston tx is opening next week and will carry an exclusive collection of FORAGE bow ties made from vintage fabric. if you happen to visit their shop you might also notice the gents working there are wearing bow ties that we made especially for them.
